Ubuntu 9.10 – Coming Soon

Ubuntu 9.10 will be released in 4 days’ time. So, be patient! The Release Candidate versions are, however, currently available for download if you wish to test them out. In this version, there is a host of new features.

Firstly, in terms of boot up, the performance has shown in some tests, that it took much shorter time. Thanks for the enhanced Upstart script written by Scott James Remnant.

With UbuntuOne integration, Ubuntu users can use the service as a storage server and share files with fellow Ubuntu users. 2GB of storage is given as a default. The service allows synchronisation of files, contacts and Tomboy notes across all Ubuntu computers and the Ubuntu Cloud. If you require more space, additional storage is available at a monthly subscription charge.

Backup and Restore Your Game with GameSave Manager

GameSave Manager enables you to easily backup and restore your game saves. The program directly supports nearly 500 popular PC games, which can be backed up without having to manually configure the software. After an initial scan, the program presents you with a list of all supported games that were found on your computer, and you can then simply select the ones you want to backup.

Ever had to format your system? Perhaps you have been victim of file corruption which also victimised your gamesaves? Maybe you just wish to transfer your gamesave(s) to your new machine, or to take with you to a friend's?

With GameSave Manager, you can easily backup, restore and transfer your gamesave(s). No longer do you need to manually track through all of the those different directories to backup/restore/transfer your gamesaves, making it great for those who like to share gamesave progress with friends/family, format frequently, paranoid about data loss, etc...

Have a game that's not supported? No problem; using the "Custom GameSave Entries" feature, you can define your own gamesaves for GameSave Manager to search for. If your games is not directly supported, you can also add it manually by pointing the program to the location of the game save files. GameSave Manager offers support for STEAM Cache and STEAM Cloud, scheduled tasks (automated backups), data compression and more. It support Windows XP/Vista/7

Download- Dexpot 1.5 a Free Desktop Manager for Windows

Dexpot 1.5 is a desktop manager similar like in Mac OSX and Linux that turns your monitor into up to 20 separate desktops. Dexpot creates additional workspaces you can quickly switch between. Take, for example, Desktop 1 to listen to your favourite music, surf the web on Desktop 2, use Desktop 3 to handle your daily word processing or switch to Desktop 4 for a game of Solitaire.

Different icons, wallpapers, start-ups, and much more can be configured for each desktop. Users owning netbooks, tablets and UMPC with small screens and low resolutions will benefit from virtual desktops as well.

Dexpot provides Windows users similar functionality like Linux or Mac OSX for their operating systems which isn’t present even in Windows 7. Its absolutely free for private use, Dexpot allows users to create additional workspaces, by allowing the creation of up to 20 separate desktops. The software is extremely flexible, providing many customization options including separate wallpapers, screen resolutions, start-ups macros, and icons for each workspace, as well as user-defined hotkeys for quick access to functions and workspaces.

By allowing you to create more than one workspace or desktop, Dexpot lets users compartmentalize/organize their work and applications onto multiple desktops, and also reduce the clutter. For example, Desktop 1 (these can also be renamed) can be for your email and web-browsing, while Desktop 2 can be for productivity such as spreadsheets and word processors, Desktop 3 solely for entertainment and media, while Desktop 4 is for games, and so on. In fact, you can even create rules for each application, so that even if you open one in the wrong (according to your own categorization) desktop, it will automatically be transferred to the correct/assigned one.
