ViewSonic Launches Android Tablet ViewPad 7 and ViewPad 10 in India

ViewSonic today launched two Android tablets ViewPad 7 with Android 2.2 and ViewPad 10 with Android 1.6 in India. These tablets will be available in the market around mid-January, 2011. The company known for its PC monitors and now entered in the Tablet PC market with the launch of two Android Tablets.

ViewSonic Technologies India Sales Head Kuldeep Ramaiya said, “The ViewPad 7 and ViewPad 10 are designed to meet the rapid growth of mobile internet access and communications demands around the world”.


ViewPad 7 is a 7 inch multi-touch display tablet comes with a 600 Mhz processor and Android 2.2 Froyo OS, 512 MB Internal Memory, 3MP rear camera with VGA front camera and Wi-Fi. It features 3.5G Internet connectivity and also supports instant messaging and VoIP. Its has memory of 32GB. The stated battery life is 10 hours. The ViewPad 7 has its own graphics chipset, a high-quality interface and built-in dual stereo speakers. The price or ViewPad 7 is Rs 32,000 which seem mush high for this configuration.


The 2nd tablet is ViewPad 10 which is a Android tablet with 10 inch 1024 x 600 pixel resolution LED display with dual boot support and the tablet can also run Windows 7 for a full-fledged PC experience. Other specifications include Intel Atom 1.66GHz processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB SSD hard drive and expandable micro SD slot. Other features include 1.3 Megapixel Webcam with inbuilt microphone that enables video conferencing. But surprisingly company has put Android 1.6 on the tablet. The ViewPad10 price is Rs 38,000. 
Both devices will be available in India by January 2011.
